My last day at my day job was 12.23.14. It’s both liberating and scary – mostly liberating! 2015 will be a make it or break year for my new business.
I’m going to work as if it’s a make it year and give it my all. I’m ready, I’m 100% committed and I’m going to make it happen.
What Getting Gutsy Means to Me
Getting gutsy means making big moves. It means putting myself out there – 100%. It means not holding anything back, because I’m scared.
Many people are scared to succeed. I’m sure I’ve been in this category a time or two in my past as well. By being scared of actually succeeding, we sabotage our own success. We let fear win.
Well, no more! 2015 is a year to get gutsy and become fearless. You want in?
3 Ways I’m Getting Gutsy in 2015
1. I’m Going to Own My New Business
This means that I’m not going to be shy when talking about my new business. I am a writer dammit and I’m going to own it!
I’m not going to shy away from what I do for a living or be embarrassed to have an online business. I work hard – probably harder than most 9-5’rs and I’m going to act like it!
2. I’m Going to Continue Putting Myself “out There”
I’m going to write press releases – for my business. I’m going to learn how to build traffic to my website and a following for my work.
3. I’m Going to Continue to Connect with People of Influence
This is one of the things that I did right in 2014. I cold emailed my mentor, Carrie. I connected with one of the most successful webpreneurs I know and asked him to hire me to be his VA. And I asked for guest posting opportunities up the wazoo!
All of these things helped me to be more successful. I made sure to return the favor when I could, gave my best work and be respectful and appreciative in my requests. If you’re new to the business, this is one of the things that I reccommend that you do too – sooner, rather than later!
2015 is going to be my year! This is the year that I’m going to make things happen. My goal for the end of it, is to be able to sit back and know that I did everything I could to make my freelance business a success.
This is it for me. I’m not going to be afraid of success. I’m going to own my strengths and continue to improve (or hire out!) my weaknesses. I can do this – you can do this – we can do this together!
